8 out of 10 Cats is a comedy panel show hosted by Jimmy Carr. Aspiring comedians Sean Lock and Jason Manford join Jimmy as team captains, Manford replacing previous team captain Dave Spikey.
Overview
Every week two celebrity guests join the team captains, from the likes of comedians David Walliams and Alan Carr. Topical public faces are often known to appear on the show, such as Ruth Badger following her appearance on the popular show The Apprentice.
The show focuses on opinion polls and statistics, making for informal and hilarious comedy.
Trivia
The show's title is derived from a well known advertising tagline for Whiskers claiming that ''8 out of 10 cats prefer whiskers''.
Dave Spikey left after the fourth series to focus on other projects, being replaced by Jason Manford.
The show is recorded at BBC on Thursday, then broadcast on Friday.

DVDs
In November of 2006, a DVD called 8 out of 10 Cats: Claws Out was released. The DVD features a collection of highlights of the past few series, as well as some deleted scenes which were 'too offensive' to be shown.
